SMPD does not currently provide Fingerprinting services to the public. There are other locations/agencies that do provide these services. Please contact these locations directly to ensure the times are still accurate.

If you have welfare concerns about a family member or neighbor, you can call dispatch at 423-886-2123 and request that an officer stop by the address and check on them.
SMPD provides a Medical drop box in the lobby of the Police Department where you can dispose of expired or unused medications. Needles/sharps are not excepted. The lobby is open 24 x 7.

The SMPD has certified child safety seat technicians that can either install or check an installation. Appointments cannot be made. It is suggested that you contact the police department to verify one of these technicians are on duty prior to stopping by the station.




Yes, SMPD does have a ride-a-long program. You must be 18 years of age to participate and complete and submit a Ride Along Application. Applications can be dropped off at the Police Department, mailed to 1111 Ridgeway Avenue, Signal Mountain, TN 37377 or they can be emailed to policeinfo@signalmountaintn.gov.
An SMPD Citizens Compliment/Complaint form can be completed and returned by mail, hand delivered or emailed to policeinfo@signalmountaintn.gov
Yes. For certain situations involving child visitation exchanges, or online sales/purchases with people you don't personally know. While we won't monitor transactions in real time, the idea is that being on camera at the police station should be enough of a deterrent.
No appointment is necessary but you can call us and let us know you are coming at 423-886-2124 if you wish.
Exchange of certain items are prohibited, including firearms, ammunition, explosives. or any other hazardous materials.


Services of an off-duty officer can be requested by completing and submitting a Special Events Police Services Request 30 days prior to the date needed. The form can be emailed to policeinfo@signalmountaintn.gov, mailed or dropped off at the Signal Mountain Police Department located at 1111 Ridgeway Avenue, Signal Mountain.
You may contact the Signal Mountain Police Department Records Clerk at 423-886-2124, Ext 308 and request a report. You will need to complete the top section of the SMPD Open Records Request Form, sign and return by fax at 423-886-2137 or email to policeinfo@signalmountaintn.gov.
You may obtain a crash report online. There is a fee of $10. To view, download and print a report simply go to PURCHASETNCRASH.GOV and have the following information available:
